Eberly, inspired by sources both humble and lofty, marries a former 1970s print shop building with a salvaged bar from the storied Cedar Tavern in New York’s Greenwich Village to create a sophisticated bar, cafe and restaurant in central Austin.
Clark’s Oyster Bar is a remodel of a 1940s building that once housed a former restaurant and before that an auto repair shop. On the edge of the historic Clarksville neighborhood and a commercial strip, Clark’s is positioned as Austin’s definitive neighborhood oyster joint.
Needing more space for their growing, multi-disciplinary team in Austin, Cushing Terrell explored several options for their new office location, ultimately choosing the Texas State Teacher’s Association building as the perfect fit.
Aamodt / Plumb was commissioned to design a home for a young family on a beautiful site on Lake Austin with only one catch: an incredibly compressed 12-month schedule. “12 months is extremely fast!” notes Aamodt.
The subtle exterior of this newly-built modern home complements the established neighborhood, while the interior explores volume and texture by way of a three-story dining room, exposed structural features and natural materials.
An active family with two kids and a full house needed a versatile solution that could do something for everyone. Concrete Casita by Ravel Architecture is a playhouse, perfect for sleepovers. A media room for kids by day and parents by night.
Originally built as a ranch-style house in 1962, the remodeled Y House is sensitively designed to weave into the fabric of the Sherwood Oaks neighborhood in South Austin while simultaneously providing a fresh and modern way of living.
