Bank Barn: Wood-Clad House by Birdseye Design
Located on a hillside meadow in rural Vermont, Bank Barn is a new residence conceptually inspired by the eponymous regional farm structures built into the banks of hills.
Private Mountainside House / Birdseye Design
Vista Residence is a private mountainside house located in a remote forest in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Conceptually, the concrete lower level anchors the house into the hillside, allowing the black cedar-clad upper level to float above the landscape and provide panoramic views to the valley below.
Knoll Retreat / Elizabeth Herrmann Architecture + Design
The Knoll Retreat was designed to have a strong presence, but not overwhelm the site. We let the land, views, and trees shape it and create a framework for intertwined interior and exterior rooms.
Vermont Modern Farmhouse / Joan Heaton Architects
The Vermont Modern Farmhouse takes the shape of two volumes, with ridges perpendicular to one another, connected by a single story glass enclosure. The two volumes have steep “farmhouse” pitched roofs while the other portions of the house have low-slope roofs.
Vermont Modern Barn / Joan Heaton Architects
The Vermont modern barn, a small, simple, get-away home is sited to take advantage of southern exposure and views to the west. The barn, modeled on the local form, is updated with a structural system of steel beams and big expanses of glass in the windows and doors.
