The Matanzas vacation house is located on the edge of a windy ravine facing the Pacific Ocean. The project is conceived as a centralized pavilion to take refuge from the landscape, and a terrace to contemplate it.
The client required a low maintenance house that would feel comfortable in scale for the couple and ‘open up’ for visiting guests whilst still allowing privacy and separate spaces.
The Two Pavilions House is a striking modern timber-clad home set within the rural landscape of Phillip Island. Replacing an old much-loved holiday shack, the priority for the new design was creating a place that would suit the needs of multiple generations of the family simultaneously.
Our inspiration for the Randwick Pavilion project lay in the established backyard which sat sunken down slightly from the surrounding. The brief was to add a new living room space, kitchen and accompanying dining room.
Not only the new residential pavilion, but also the complete internal renovation of the house was part of the project. The main entrance of the house is been moved to the facade of the new pavilion.
When presented with the opportunity to design this modern pavilion like a small addition to an existing residence, it was exciting to discover a number of established and significant trees sporadically arranged …
The Norwegian Wild Reindeer Centre Pavilion is located at Hjerkinn on the outskirts of Dovrefjell National Park, overlooking the mountain Snøhetta. The 90 m2 building is open to the public and serves as an observation pavilion for the Wild Reindeer Foundation educational programmes.
