Built in the late 19th century as part of a large new estate in South London, Wandsworth Cottage is a small Victorian terrace house originally built as a modest workers’ cottage.
DHaus was invited to tender for an ambitious ground floor rear extension, the Clients brief was clear – to maximise space and light, opening up the entire rear facade but at the same time keeping an outdoor courtyard space.
It is a rear, loft and basement extension and includes a complete refurbishment across an existing 5 storey Victorian terraced house.
A post-war end of terrace house has been completely refurbished and extended with a contemporary loft and a modern rear extension by its architect owner.
The Gellatly Road House purposely uses a restricted palette of materials comprising dark stained larch cladding, birch ply and concrete.
A much-loved garden was central to our design of this side and rear extension for a Victorian mid-terrace house in the Stroud Green Conservation Area of Haringey. The project for a couple, both in property development and one a keen gardener, arranges a sequence of living spaces around the garden and an internal courtyard that gives constant connection to greenery on the tight urban site.
