Folium is a new fine-dining restaurant in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter and the brainchild of renowned chef, Ben Tesh.
The owners of Digbeth’s much-loved craft beer and burger restaurant, Original Patty Men, wanted to open a bar in the adjacent unit for diners to enjoy a drink while they waited for a table during busy periods. But they were keen for Kilder bar to be more than just an overflow space and enlisted Faber Design & Architecture to create a bar with a clear, separate identity, with a very different look and feel to the restaurant.
The existing property consisted of a four-storey Victorian terraced house divided into 11 bedsits with a back garden. The client wished to convert the property into a new co-living concept to cater to the strong rental demand in London and changing living habits. Bicbloc managed to reconfigure the original layout into 14 serviced 18 sqm studio apartments.
Located on Granary Square, the brand’s new hub will contribute to an ever-expanding network of creatives and technologists from the likes of Central St. Martins and LVMH to Google and Spiritland.
Positioned on the second floor of one of Clerkenwell’s finest warehouse buildings, this extraordinary apartment has been distinctively designed by Henley Halebrown Rorrison Architects. Measuring around 2,000sqft, the singular space celebrates the original fabric of the building with great honesty.
The Petersen Brick House project has a similar context to our Brackenbury House. The extension sits on a corner of an end of terrace house and is a substantial remodelling and extension to provide accommodation for a family of four.
This heavy constraint did not limit the ambition of extending this family home and opening connections with the garden, while balancing the need of protecting the privacy from the overlooking neighbouring properties.
