Miller Residence is an exploration of the interstitial spaces and relationships between the existing built form and the surrounds. The existing weatherboard property suffered from piecemeal connections within as well as with the natural environment.
This is an addition to an old weatherboard house set within a large garden. The idea was to create a separate sleeping pavillion linked to the existing cottage via extending the old verandah. This creates a separation of sleeping and living areas and links all spaces with the verdant garden.
Abbott St House is an Edwardian weatherboard house in Sandringham. Typical of many of the period houses in the area, a previous extension had added a room on the back incorporating main bedroom, kitchen and meals area but this space suffered the ailments of a south orientation and poor room configuration.
