The La Pineda House is formed by three enclosures that, together with the porches, are articulated to leave an empty space (patios). In this house, a fourth element is suggested: the closed porch, an outside space in the interior, intended to be the access and main distributor of the house.

Situated on a sweeping Texas Hill Country meadow, Milagro Springs Retreat is defined by a series of jagged roof peaks inspired by the rise and fall of the surrounding hills. The Norwegian Wild Reindeer Centre Pavilion is located at Hjerkinn on the outskirts of Dovrefjell National Park, overlooking the mountain Snøhetta. The 90 m2 building is open to the public and serves as an observation pavilion for the Wild Reindeer Foundation educational programmes.
Flexibility was also embedded in the brief for this project. With the idea of staying in this home for years to come, creating experiences was pivotal. The sliding glass and timber-battened screens, for example, fully retract to allow a seamless connection to the garden.

The concept – a modern reinterpretation of the vernacular dogtrot house found commonly in Appalachia – aligns the more private program along the ridge creating a linear bar running east-west optimizing the long exposures of the building.
