The Bread & Butter bar is a space for informal meetings at the office of one of the largest manufacturing companies in Ukraine — Myronivsky Hliboproduct. During the day, you can have lunch with your colleagues here and hastily discuss some business, and in the evening, you can order cocktails and dance to the rhythms of light music.
“Waves” in the bar area is one of the main design solutions here that sets the dynamics of the completely white space. Each rail was made according to individual drawings developed specifically for this project.
It was a real challenge for the architects to dismantle the hall space and reassemble it. This move was necessary to create the desired set of volumes and shapes in the interior. Here we relaid the floor, chose the perfect skirting boards, painted the walls, mounted white panels on choice walls, and designed a new ceiling with access to all the fittings behind it. The electricity and water supply have been installed in the bar though it wasn’t planned according to the original project.
All interior lighting has been made in the Serhii Makhno’s ceramic workshop. There are some new formats of handmade ceramics here — futuristic lamps under the ceiling and plate-shaped panels on the walls that also serve as lighting. Despite the fact that all the lighting is handmade, the surfaces are perfectly smooth, without any imperfections. To achieve this kind of effect, ceramists thoroughly worked with the consistency of clay, improving the shape and glazing the objects.
The lounge area features The Elephants big-eared armchairs designed by Sergey Makhno Product. Above them, there are Medusa ceramic lamps that are distinguished by their weightless amorphous shapes and bubble lamps of a silky yellow hue.
DIDO sculptures are giant bar guards. Here our designers have chosen heroes named ISHO — these guys do not ask irrelevant questions. They were molded by hand and fired in the largest workshop kilns with a size of 100x100x1800 mm.
Bread & Butter is a meeting place of Ukrainian traditions, modern design, and advanced technologies that together create a special futuristic comfort.
