The conversion of an abandoned building in San Francisco’s Nob Hill neighborhood to a restaurant. Our scope included designing a new wooden store-front façade. Del Popolo restaurant features Neapolitan-style wood fired pizzas, and the wood oven is the central focus of the space. The custom tile glaze that we commissioned for the bar feels fresh and vibrant as well as classic and historic.

The name of the restaurant, Del Popolo, means ‘of the people’ and from that name came our concept of decorating the interior walls with portraits of people that we sourced from all over the world. Long central tables allow for a more communal ‘of the people’ dining experience.

Hood Canal Boat House and Cottage, Olympic Peninsula, Washington

This little building is the re-imagination of an existing boathouse that had no windows, one door, and no charm. It is conceived as a building that can turn itself inside out, offering a protective layer of concrete block and steel to the outside with the warmth of marine plywood on the inside.

Modern Tea Ceremony House – théATRE by Sò Studio

“Opening” is the first thing we did for this Modern Tea Ceremony House. We opened the façade and left 1/3 of the space completely connected with the outdoor. We hope that the guests can feel the story of the interior and see our tea gardens and products at first sight.
