The collaboration between the British brand MINI and chef Dario Barrio has materialized through the achievement of MINI & dASSA bASSA restaurant from Madrid. Guille Garcia-Hoz designer proposes to us a unique and original interior, inspired by the English classicism to which is added a modern, creative and innovative impression that gives a cosmopolitan tendency. Initially, the space where the restaurant is arranged was occupied by offices, requiring for the new destination a reduction of the ceilings. The window sills were restored becoming the relaxation areas where customers can sit. To the electric cables were given the decorative role through the yellow and orange colours that contrast with the wall and the turquoise blue ceiling.
To prevent “the corridor effect” that is given by the common geometry of the space, the restaurant was divided into 2-3 meter long subspaces to which were given their own identity through different furniture and decors. Also, each subspace benefits of distinct lighting and decorative elements on the ceiling. As MINI & dASSA bASSA is located in the classical area of Madrid, it was considered appropriate the symbolization of the architectural classic through the presence of some plaster mouldings. Designer Guille Garcia-Hoz has created a place where the classic meets with the modern, origins intertwine with new trends, offering a fresh and lively interior where the visitor can relax and enjoy an equally creative kitchen.
