Designed by Septembre Architecture, the renovation of a 70 sqm apartment in the Eleventh District of Paris reimagines a traditional Parisian interior through a subtle blend of modern functionality and preserved heritage. The project carefully balances authenticity with comfort, turning a compact flat into a warm and timeless home.
Preserving Parisian Elegance
The renovation retains much of the apartment’s original character. Herringbone parquet flooring, ceiling moldings, and decorative wall trims were meticulously restored to maintain the elegance typical of Parisian architecture. These historical features coexist beautifully with the clean lines and minimalist approach that define the updated interior, creating a refined dialogue between old and new.
The Kitchen as a Central Feature
At the core of the renovation of the 70 sqm apartment, the kitchen and dining space were merged to form the social heart of the home. The central island, which incorporates a washing sink, acts as both a practical workspace and a sculptural element. Its stone surface matches the backsplash, and the earthy tones add warmth and visual unity to the entire area.
Optimized Bedroom Storage
In the bedroom, a custom-built closet maximizes functionality without disrupting the minimalist design. The tailored storage solution brings order to the compact layout while maintaining visual harmony with the rest of the apartment. The bathroom, located at the end of the apartment, uses every centimeter efficiently. Despite its small size, it continues the overall design language of the home, with neutral tones and streamlined details that amplify the perception of space. The consistent material palette ensures a seamless transition between rooms.
