Sometimes, renovating a home isn’t about creating a brand-new look. Instead, it’s about evoking the warmth of a space that has already been lived in. Stazione 123 Apartment is a perfect example of this philosophy—a transformation that accelerates time, revealing an environment renewed yet rich with history and personal experience.

A Vision of Playful Whimsy

The vision for Stazione 123 Apartment came from two creative minds, @beppegallo and @luluartist. They wanted to translate their family’s playful and whimsical world into their new apartment. Together with the design team, they crafted a space that embraces what they love and what brings them joy, without too many strict rules. The result is a home that feels both personal and inviting, where every detail speaks to the residents’ unique personalities.

Historic Roots and Thoughtful Layout

Nestled in the Villa Fiorelli area, the apartment is part of a historic housing complex—a rare example of social architecture that is seldom built today. The floor plan takes on an L-shape, with an entrance along the longer side and windows aligned on one façade. This layout follows a traditional corridor design, where rooms unfold in succession, creating a sense of flow and continuity throughout the home.

At the heart of the apartment lies the living area, positioned directly opposite the entrance. A central dining table anchors the space, around which the living room and kitchen develop their own distinct identities. Large, yellow-framed glass partitions visually connect these areas to the corridor, multiplying perspectives and offering a true open-plan feel.

Spaces that Inspire and Delight

To the left of the central area, the corridor extends with three arched doors lacquered in a delicate sugar-paper blue. These lead to two bathrooms and the first bedroom. On the opposite side, a full-height pivot door opens to two additional bedrooms. An eclectic, layered aesthetic ties the space together, blending vintage elements with industrial accents, antique pieces, and bespoke furnishings. The owner’s artistic interventions—geometric frames and optical patterns—decorate the walls and mark thresholds, sparking a dialogue between art and architecture.

The flooring is composed of natural larch planks, and the walls, left intentionally unpolished, feature a raw-textured lime-based IG21 finish. This “unfinished” look harmonizes beautifully with the home’s rich, stimulating universe.

Stazione 123 Apartment by 02A Studio is an inviting yet surprising space—a joyful synthesis of diverse personalities. It’s a place where one immediately feels at home, finds inspiration, and above all, experiences happiness.
