The project is a major renovation of an apartment built in the early 60´s in Sao Paulo, which already had a good plan, yet compartmentalized in it´s original distribution. Our proposal retains much of this distribution, but applying a series of changes that transform not only the space of the apartment
Based on this premise, the architects João Pedro Crescente and Raquel Zaffalon from the brazilian architecture office AMBIDESTRO, have decided to create a layout that changes according to the use. Besides the architectural project, the sofa, the dining table and coffee table have also been designed by the architects,
Designed to be the home of the contemporary man, the Aspen Apartment is the latest completed project of the Ambidestro Arquitetura office in Porto Alegre. With the smallest detail in mind, the apartment was designed for clients looking for a living space inspired by the great capitals of the world.
This two storey loft is located in a residential neighborhood of São Paulo – Brazil – where the real estate investors are shaping the market into small apartments units (from 25 to 40 sqm). In a city where life happens mostly outdoors, it makes sense to spend just a few hours in closed living spaces.
When we received the demand, one of the first things we thought about was: let’s get away of the classic typology of the exposed house, so massively used in the condominiums of the region – with from top to bottom glazing and a two-story high ceiling.

The entire house is delicately supported on the downhill terrain. The landscape have a free view from the interior, even the layout is clear, simple solution with elegant design, in some ways this house is very minimal.
