Originally built as a ranch-style house in 1962, the remodeled Y House is sensitively designed to weave into the fabric of the Sherwood Oaks neighborhood in South Austin while simultaneously providing a fresh and modern way of living.
The client’s brief called for a two-bedroom apartment that had the spirit and sophistication of traditional and contemporary Japanese architecture without reverting to pastiche.

The existing are two similar apartments but located on two consecutive floors. Customer wants NOWA to connect these two independent spaces to become a 2-storey apartment for a small family of 4 people.
