The TMX Garden Apartment by Raz Melamed transforms two adjacent units in a Tel Aviv tower into a pastoral sanctuary for a young family. Surrounded by lush vegetation and featuring a private pool, the home creates the feeling of a ground-floor villa while offering all the advantages of urban living. Designed for a couple with three children, the apartment balances minimalism, functionality, and warmth with a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.

A Family-Centered Vision

The clients requested a home that could accommodate both intimate family life and social gatherings. Their brief included two children’s bathrooms, parquet flooring, a play area, and an outdoor kitchen for entertaining. Melamed responded by organizing the public zone into a perfect rectangle, where the kitchen, dining, and living areas flow together. Large windows and glass doors ensure continuity with the surrounding garden, while soundproofing in the family corner maintains both privacy and flexibility.

Interior Geometry and Materials

Inside, the TMX Garden Apartment highlights clean lines and precise geometry, a recurring theme in Melamed’s work. White carpentry anchors the design, softened by warm parquet flooring that reappears in details such as the wine cabinet and open shelving. The kitchen features a tall metallic gray façade paired with a generous island, illuminated by a brass lighting strip that echoes throughout the apartment. In the dining space, a white table and wooden chairs reflect the overall palette of white, gray, and natural tones.

Guest toilets provide a striking contrast, with brushed black cladding, black lighting, and a freestanding white sink. Elsewhere, bright and practical furniture ensures comfort for an active household, while washable fabrics make maintenance simple.

Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Living

From the living and family rooms, sliding doors open onto the expansive balcony. Here, an outdoor kitchen and colorful dining chairs invite entertaining, while a wooden deck surrounds the pool. The pool itself features an innovative cover that rises and falls, ensuring both child safety and water temperature control. Granite flooring contrasts with interior parquet, while dense vegetation creates a natural border between indoor and outdoor zones. A pergola provides shade, and architectural elements of the tower ceiling enhance privacy.

Private Retreats

A hidden door in the kitchen leads to the private wing. Minimalist children’s rooms use soft textures for warmth, with one bathroom featuring Zlatina flooring and floating cabinetry. The parents’ suite includes a serene bedroom with white carpentry, a sliding door to a walk-in closet, and a spa-like bathroom. In this space, black flooring and fixtures contrast with the continuity of parquet, while under-cabinet lighting enhances the sense of depth. The suite also opens onto a small private garden, completing the circular walk around the apartment’s green spaces.

Living with Light and Warmth

The TMX Garden Apartment by Raz Melamed is more than an interior project; it is a crafted lifestyle experience. By merging minimalism with warmth, and city life with garden tranquility, the design creates a family home that feels both elegant and deeply personal. Ultimately, TMX Garden Apartment stands as a pastoral retreat in the heart of Tel Aviv.
