Villa Paloma is an artfully designed oasis blending the best of coastal Mediterranean living with the mystical, handcrafted Mexican aesthetic of Oaxaca, San Miguel de Allende, Todos Santos, and Tulum. The home rests peacefully in the boulders on more than 4 private hilltop acres on the edge of a protected wilderness zone with views of Joshua Tree National Park.

entrance

What began as a modest homestead cabin built in 1952, Villa Paloma was thoughtfully renovated and completely modernized by us in 2021. Tranquil, serene, and in complete harmony with the Mojave Desert, Villa Paloma’s light-filled spaces, minimal design, earthy hues, and carefully chosen art pieces welcome guests with an immediate sense of calm, natural beauty, and belonging. The home is great for small groups who want to be together and have enough private space to themselves.

The beautifully manicured property is blessed with multiple places to spot wildlife and take in views from multiple vantage points, either with friends or solo. The shaded dining patio, surrounded by 100-year-old Joshua trees, juniper trees, agaves, ocotillos, and national park views, is perfect for an evening barbecue.

terrace

The sunset perch comes with a pair of swivel loungers, ideal for soaking up the 360-degree valley-to-mountain pink sky views. The elevated meditation/ yoga deck, tucked into the boulders, transforms into the ultimate stargazing and fireside storytelling setting at night. The shaded pool patio is an ideal place to sip a cocktail and relax while watching quail, rabbits and the hypnotic dance of the Palo Verde trees in the breeze.
