Loft Kolasiński Studio have recently completed a summer flat near Berlin, Germany, combining vintage European design pieces with custom-made furniture. The project reflects the studio’s signature approach of blending heritage with contemporary sensibilities, creating interiors that are both warm and timeless.
Design Concept
For this flat, designer Jacek Kolasiński curated a selection of vintage Polish, Czech, and Danish furniture, lighting, and textiles. He paired these finds with bespoke furniture pieces designed in-house, ensuring that every element worked in harmony. This mix of old and new embodies the studio’s philosophy of honoring design history while crafting something fresh and personal.
Custom and Restored Pieces
Loft Kolasiński Studio also led the interior design, rebuilding project, and construction of selected furniture. Some vintage pieces were carefully restored, giving them new life within the modernized space. Custom furniture designed and built for the project added cohesion and functionality, making the home uniquely tailored to the client.
A Balanced Interior
The result is a summer flat that feels curated yet comfortable, stylish yet lived-in. The natural textures of textiles and wood add warmth, while the clean lines of Scandinavian and Eastern European furniture provide clarity and balance. The thoughtful integration of restored vintage items ensures that the home has depth and character beyond a purely contemporary design.
