“Midtown Revival” embodies our newfound appreciation for Italian design—a passion that blossomed during our recent journey to Milan for the Salone del Mobile. On that trip, we discovered exceptional designers, toured exquisite villas, and explored vintage furniture shops throughout the city. This immersive experience ignited our passion for Italy’s rich heritage and informed our approach to reimagining a neglected 1920s bungalow in Atlanta.
Honoring History with Contemporary Elegance
At The Drawing Room, we hold a deep respect for history. Therefore, when transforming this outdated home, we skillfully blended modernism with classical elements. In doing so, we not only preserved the home’s storied past but also infused it with contemporary elegance. Vintage treasures, such as Ico Parisi’s dining chairs and Achimede Seguso’s Murano glass chandelier, harmonize beautifully with ISA Bergamo’s lounge chairs. This careful curation creates a cohesive narrative that celebrates the textures and stories of bygone eras.
A Tribute to Local Craftsmanship and Iconic Landmarks
Inspired by the historic Candler Building, we chose a stunning slab of polished Georgia marble from a local quarry just 45 minutes from the city. This choice exemplifies our dedication to historical continuity while showcasing local craftsmanship. Moreover, the same stone features in the nearby Atlanta Federal Reserve, reinforcing our commitment to modernizing traditional applications.
In essence, “Midtown Revival” transcends a mere renovation. It captures our journey through Italian design and demonstrates the extraordinary potential of intertwining tradition and innovation. Ultimately, this project creates a truly unique and unforgettable home that bridges the old with the new.
