A Deep Connection with Nature
Located in the lush landscapes of Valle de Bravo, Copas House is a testament to the harmonious integration of architecture and nature. The design was born out of a profound respect for the natural environment, with the aim of creating living spaces that are deeply connected to the surrounding treetops. This connection with nature is not just a visual aspect but also defines the atmosphere and experience throughout the house.
Adapting to the Terrain
The architects behind Copas House took great care in adapting the structure to the natural topography of the site. Rather than imposing on the landscape, the house absorbs the natural slope, requiring minimal excavation. This sensitive approach allows the residence to sit lightly on the land, preserving the integrity of the environment.
Elevated Public Spaces
One of the key features of Copas House is the elevation of its public spaces. Positioned one level above the ground, these areas are designed as a series of platforms that offer various ways to engage with the surrounding nature. The open upper floor connects directly with the treetops, allowing residents to feel as though they are living among the branches, with panoramic views that change with the light and seasons.
Private and Peaceful Retreats
In contrast to the openness of the public areas, the first floor of Copas House is dedicated to private spaces. The bedrooms are tucked away on this lower level, ensuring that they remain quiet and secluded. This design choice guarantees the privacy and tranquility needed for restful sleep, away from the more active spaces above.
An Ascendant Experience
The concept of Copas House is inspired by the experience of climbing a mountain. As one ascends through the house, new perspectives and breathtaking views unfold, much like the discovery of vistas during a hike. This journey from the ground up not only enhances the connection with the surrounding landscape but also creates a unique living experience that is both dynamic and serene.
In essence, Copas House is more than just a residence; it is an immersive experience that celebrates the beauty of Valle de Bravo’s natural surroundings, offering a peaceful retreat that is in perfect harmony with its environment.
