Located in the scenic south of Brazil, the Sea Front Apartment in Balneário Camboriú has been thoughtfully updated by Simara Melo Arquitetura. This project turns the apartment into a calm vacation home for a family from Mato Grosso. The family, a couple with three children including twins and a newly married child with a grandchild, finds this spot perfect for escaping busy life.
Keeping the Original Charm
The apartment was brand new when delivered by the builders, so the clients chose to keep the original structure and inside finishes like floors and wall coverings. The updates focused mainly on new lights, furniture, and decor, aiming for a simple style with soft colors that show off the apartment’s stunning sea views. This approach kept the space’s original feel while highlighting its natural beauty.
Smart Layout for Better Views
The team tackled the challenge of rearranging the layout to make the most of the wide beach views. They installed two kinds of panels: a wooden one that hides kitchen storage and the bathroom door, and a white one that blends the hallway door into the room. These changes made the inside flow well without taking away from the views.
Careful Decor and Personal Touches
In the living area, the furniture setup was careful. The TV sits on a stone track away from the glass walls, making it easy to maintain, while the sofa faces the sea, with blackout blinds for comfort. The decor, featuring light wood, natural fibers, and stone, makes the space cozy yet stylish.
The team chose an art piece from Galeria Cosmos that sits behind the Mole armchair. They picked this piece after looking at many options to make sure it fit well with the apartment’s look.
A Focus on Brazilian Design
The family values Brazilian design, choosing pieces from famous designers like Arthur Casas, Sérgio Rodrigues, and Jader Almeida. They picked these items carefully for both style and comfort. Adding many plants throughout the apartment also brings life and freshness to the space.
Functional Areas for Family Life
The kitchen, with a barbecue spot, is set up for both cooking and family time. It has a big counter that works for food prep and as a gathering place. The main bedroom suite offers a lovely view and mixes comfort with style, featuring wood floors, a bookshelf, and a straw headboard for a peaceful feel.
