The brief was to create a practical family home that captures the panoramic views of the Harbour and provide a warm and relaxed atmosphere with plenty of light and generous amenity.
Casa Muelles features a south-west façade that is completely open towards the sea. To the north-east, the perimeters are designed to respect the privacy of the site as well as the proper utilization of natural light.
The “House of Messines”, is based on an existing building, already in ruins, but with a fantastic orientation East-West, and with a rhythm of openings for light source already very inviting.
Salmon House is a minimalist modern house designed by FGR Architecture for a young family. Structurally, 80 per cent of the new home is concrete and glazing softened by timber cabinetry and greenery, much of which will mature over time.
Departing from the shingle style precedent set by the boathouse and carriage house, the main Point Monroe house presents a more contemporary interpretation of Northwest Regionalism, in line with the owner’s wishes.
Guests coming up the front steps of this hilltop home are met with a Carrera marble sculpture by Richard Erdman, titled Serenade, selected by our clients, whose devotion to the process made this an especially joyful collaboration.
