The project is located on “de la Roche” Street, in the neighbourhood of Le Plateau Mont-Royal, a vibrant district with an exceptional urban vitality. In the light of its situation, the project aims to give a new breath to its plot with a contemporary residential building of five housing units.
Merida House seeks to be a private and intimate place for a family of five. The program is divided into two levels, leaving on the ground floor the public zone, semi-public and services; Upstairs the rooms.
The Bredeney House with its generous driveway in an open, semi-public front garden, however, takes reference from the partly still existing 1960s houses. A separation from the public space is only achieved by the level of the house itself.
The Carrillo Residence occupies a long narrow site on the rim of Santa Monica Canyon with distant views of the Pacific Ocean. Designed for a young couple with two children, the house strikes a balance between the needs of the family and taking advantage of the Southern California climate and views.
Gray Puksand has completed a $1.8 million residential project at 42 Coles Street, in the Melbourne suburb of Brighton. Completed in February 2017, this unconventional house was designed by Robert Puksand, Founding Partner at Gray Puksand, as his family home.
The overall feeling of the three-storey residence in Armadale is lightness – almost an ethereal floating quality created by the sun refracting over the granite façade. This is a contradiction to the reality of the 260 tons of granite which make up the building’s skin.
Liam designed and built this small townhouse as an opportunity to test a number of design concepts and construction details first hand. The result is a contemporary yet respectful townhouse style project. “I wanted to design, detail and build a home with design merit on a modest budget.”
Like a butterfly specimen pinned to its mounting, this sinuous lake-front home’s light floating roofs are anchored to its site by heavy rusticated limestone masses, while its horizontal footprint is spread out and sewn through the vertical punctuation of mature sycamore, cypress and pecan trees
