Khanh House is a Vietnamese family home located in the ancient city of Hoi An, central Quang Nam Province in Vietnam. The city used to be a busy trading port at the 17th century in the central of Vietnam.
This apartment is in the same building, same area and type as A.D01 which we have done. The only difference is that A.D02 is symmetric with A.D01. But with the different needs of each customer we offer different space solutions.
The Vietnam traditional house is stretched from front to back creating continuous functional spaces. These spaces’ boundaries are estimated by light with different intensity and darkness. The layout utilizes the wind direction of the local area in different seasons.
When we agreed to design this two-bedroom apartment, the apartment was not finished, the walls were not built but the space has been fixed. The location of equipment in the toilet and the kitchen has been waiting for the old design of the building.
The Alpes Office has feeling and is environmentally sustainable, as were the villages of the past. Originally the large lot contained some old houses, white pampas grass, native bamboo shrubs, and plants that survived on the ambient conditions with little input from people.
The remaining spaces are bedrooms, stair, roof, toilets which are designed minimally and practically to maximize space utilization and minimize construction cost. This minimalist vietnamese home is complete with the joy of the host and create new exciting atmosphere to residents walking across the road in front of the house.
