Cloud house is a private home located at Bondi Beach. The concept was to maximise the opportunity for light to interact with the surfaces of the house, like the facets of a cloud. The Cloud house is open towards the East of the site to benefit from the morning sun, while the internal courtyard allows sun throughout the day to flood the double height living area.
The Reddish residence responds to the site by acting as a moderator between interior spaces and the landscape. Arcades, overhangs, courtyards and site walls articulate that relationship. An arcade marked by a gesture to the street bisects an entry courtyard.
This minimalist Mexico home resolves almost all the interior surfaces with natural concrete. The structural elements such as banked beams, retaining walls and stairs were left apparent; the polystyrene beam and vault roof, as well as the insulating panel loading walls are flattened with a fine, polished finish.
Overlooking the hills that surround the city of Santa Maria, the residence of contemporary character explores the materiality and takes advantage of visuals and the solar orientation. The plants of the floors are functional with large rooms that open outwards, ensuring maximum use of natural lighting and ventilation.
Modern single-family villa on 2 floors located in the coastal Spanish village of Cambrils, in the residential area of Ardiaca (Tarragona – Costa Dorada), in front of an amazing sandy beach.
The main intention of this open-floor family home project was to incorporate the external spaces into the social spaces of the house, bringing nature to the living areas. To enable this integration between spaces without losing privacy in the most intimate areas of the house, the main divisions between spaces were made through slatted wood folding doors.
The Zeist house is situated on the edge of a village in a natural setting where forest meets heathland. Distinctive features of the house are the raised patio and living area, the large overhanging roofs and the generous picture windows.
Pierced with light on its flanks, the Artist Workshop is oriented towards the north and the views onto the lake. Spacious but intimate, the interior volume accommodates large formats of paintings. The minimalist play of surfaces and the rigor of the alignments put the artist’s work in scene and supports his concentration.
The owners of this 1940s Brentwood ranch house (California), a former studio head and her partner, wanted a new screening room that they added with an extension.
Two duplex townhouses were proposed to replace an existing weatherboard house in a quiet, leafy suburban environment. The units were designed to maximise floor area while respecting the surrounding neighbourhood context.
Stouffville Residence is grounded in the earth while being cantilevered over a vast landscape. The stone entry wall, low and private, hints program through a series of translucent glass boxes punching through the otherwise monolithic wall.
